Charlie Slaton – CEO
Charlie Slaton is CEO of Critical Access Healthcare, LLC (CAH). He has been involved with Texas healthcare for over twenty years. He attended Texas Tech University in 1979 and 1986, then started his career at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He ran Tenet’s Texas Division and was the CEO of MedCath before starting CAH. Charlie has been Texas-based a good portion of his career and has served on the Texas Hospital Association Board of Directors.
He resides with his family in the Dallas, Texas, area.
Ken Holmes – Vice-President of Development
Kenneth Holmes earned his BA from the University of South Alabama in 1970. After college, he served in the U.S. Navy through 1974 as a naval flight officer. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Kenneth worked with Eaton Labs as a pharmaceutical sales representative until 1978.
In 1978, Kenneth formed Ken Holmes Enterprises, a manufacturers’ sales representative company. He owned and operated that company until 1993. During that time, KHE represented medical device manufacturers and controlled $16 million annually in sales. In 1993, Kenneth sold KHE and took a position with MedCath, Inc. as Regional Vice President of Development in their hospital division. During his tenure with MedCath, Kenneth developed ten heart hospital projects, four of which are in Texas.
After fourteen years of service, Kenneth left MedCath in 2007 to join Critical Access Healthcare, LLC, as Vice President of Development. He works and resides in the Houston, Texas, area.
Dennis Jack, FACHE – CEO, Golden Plains
Community Hospital, Borger Texas
Since 2008, Dennis Jack has served as the CEO of Golden Plains in Borger, Texas. Dennis has significant experience in successfully managing, developing and building hospitals, having built and opened eight hospitals. He and his wife Diana have two children, Jared and Julia.

Denny joined CAH and Golden Plains Hospital in 2008. He brings a
deep background as a Chief Financial Officer and a Certified Internal
Auditor to the company. Denny has experience in general acute, critical
access cost based, psychiatric and rehabilitation hospitals finance
and accounting.
Richard Hoeth, FACHE – CEO, Rice Medical
Richard Hoeth, FACHE is the CEO at Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake, Texas.
Mr. Hoeth has 25 years of experience as a hospital executive and healthcare consultant and 14 years of experience as an association executive. Prior to assuming his position at Rice Medical Center, Richard was the Vice President of Member Relations and Rural Health at the Texas Hospital Association in Austin. His past experience includes an adjunct faculty position at Texas State’s program in healthcare administration, and he currently serves as a member of Texas A & M’s School of Rural Public Health Advisory Board.
Mr. Hoeth is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a past Regent of the Central and South Texas Region for ACHE, and was also a Texas ACHE Regent-at-Large. Richard is married, and he and his wife, Marilyn, have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
